Basaltina® stone comes from the earth and water, and it is to the latter that we dedicate special attention. We have implemented an advanced rainwater collection and recycling system that allows us to significantly reduce the consumption of drinking water. The water used in cutting and processing is constantly monitored, decanted, and reintroduced into the production cycle, contributing to a virtuous system that minimizes waste.
Our goal for 2025 is to increase the recovery of wastewater by 10%, moving towards a “Water Zero” model.

To reduce our carbon footprint, we are investing in low-impact technologies and more efficient production systems. In collaboration with the Municipality of Bagnoregio, we are participating in the creation of a Renewable Energy Community (CER), an innovative project that promotes self-production and sharing of clean energy.
By 2027, we aim to achieve full certification of our carbon footprint and further improve energy efficiency.

Sustainability is not only about the environment but also about people. For this reason, Basaltina invests in employee training and raising awareness on environmental issues. We believe that change starts with skills and awareness, which is why we are committed to building a corporate culture that promotes sustainable choices in every area.
By 2028, we plan to activate dedicated training programs to spread a culture of sustainability both within and outside the company.

At Basaltina, nothing goes to waste. Processing residues are collected and reused in the replenishment of exhausted extraction areas, reducing the need for external materials. The sludge resulting from production processes is treated according to strict environmental standards and used in redevelopment projects. Our production approach is based on a zero-kilometer model, limiting transportation and reducing emissions.
This allows us to give new life to waste, transforming it into resources for the territory.

For Basaltina, the quarry is not just a place of production but a space to be preserved and enhanced. At the end of the production cycle, disused areas are transformed into green spaces through replenishment interventions and environmental redevelopment projects.
Our “Extraction Park” project aims to convert a disused quarry into a multifunctional space dedicated to cultural events and nature trails, offering a new meeting point between industry and nature.

Our quarry is located in an area of great natural and historical richness. For this reason, we are committed to managing extraction activities with the utmost respect for the soil and landscape. After each excavation phase, we work to reconstruct the natural profile of the land, promoting the rebirth of native vegetation.
Through collaboration with local authorities and environmental specialists, we promote targeted projects to preserve biodiversity and protect the territory’s resources for future generations.
